Emailed over two dozen state, federal and local politicians, organizations and famous people involved in green issues the idea that we should pass a law that reserves the left lane of all federally supported highways for fuel efficient cars. This is the primary reason people are hesitant to buy them right now. We are afraid of getting run over by an SUV. Regardless of front end collision test results, we all know that if we get hit by an SUV or large car while driving a smart car, we'll take the beating not the fossil fuel man in the Hummer. It will also be a good revenue source for state and local towns because enforcement will be easy pickings for the police in the first years of the law. If you agree with me, email your local politicians and lets get some bumper stickers printed up. Email five politicians and tell two friends. Pass it on.
