The Fossil Fuel Man Goes Boating

4

This was a truly "picture perfect" example of the fact that the Fossil Fuel Man is alive and well today. Unfortunately I had a hard time getting a good picture as I was driving.

From the picture you can get the idea of what was going on. While on the highway I came to a large hill with a very gradual incline. Up ahead the whole road was engulfed in a thick cloud of black smoke.

When I got closer I realized what was up. An over sized (4 wheels in the back) diesel pickup truck was attempting to pull an even larger cigarette style boat up the hill. Needless to say with its three engines the boat was far too heavy for even this pickup. The pickup was forced to crawl along in the breakdown lane while it spewed black diesel smoke down the highway.

The shot I got was when the truck had just reached the top of the hill so it was only pumping out a small amount of smoke. However, when I first saw the truck it was producing so much smoke that all of the cars behind it literally had to come to a stop to let it move on so they could see.

Great find! . . .
and just think of the added pollution created by the 3 engines that power the boat :(
