When will things start to heat up? Good question.

...or as Alfred E. Newman once said, "what me worry?"

Now that you read the Eco Education posts you should understand what Climate Change is all about and how it is affecting both the earth and you personally. You now need to realize that Climatologists (smart scientist guys with pocket protectors and thick glasses) can only make educated guesses as to how much and when things will start to…really heat up. But as you might have guessed, climatologists are very, very educated so their educated guesses tend to be the best ones we have. Certainly better than say, a congressman or senator from a state with an economy heavily dependent upon the coal or oil industries or for that matter a politically conservative shock jock radio host.

The bottom line is that this sort of climate change is all new. We are in the test tube if you will. In addition, Climatologists tend to be a very conservative group who do not like to be wrong. They therefore tend to guess on the less scary more conservative side.

There are however two bits of very scary discovery coming to light. First is there is now a concessions that climate change is about 100 years ahead of schedule. The second is it is becoming more and more likely that "feedback loops" will result in our reaching a tipping point where there is not much we can do to stop catastrophic climate changes. Phew, that doesn’t sound fun.

The below video is Bill McKibben talking about feedback loops. Mr. Mckibben is the author of “EAARTH”. See the Eco EnlightenMan post to learn more about him and his book. (Note: when watching the video please excuse any commercials. We have nothing to do with them. ...in fact I just saw one for "clean coal!" how moronic...err I mean ironic.)
