The premise behind the Fossil Fuel Man Challenge is based on the Ages of Mankind. Mankind has evolved from the Caveman and the Stone Age, to the Bronze Age, to the Iron Age. Today however, we are destine to be remembered by our kids and future generations as having lived in the Fossil Fuel Age. The age where mankind was wholly dependent upon fossil fuels for transportation, heating, cooling, building materials, packaging materials and most every other aspect of daily life.
Lately we have all come to realize it is time to end the Fossil Fuel Age. To achieve this mission we must do nothing less than dawn a new age, the Age of Eco-Enlightenment.
The Age of Eco-Enlightenment will be the age where mankind becomes acutely aware of the importance of creating sustainable ECOnomies, moving to ECO-Enlightened energy sources, and living in balance with our surrounding ECOsystems - wetlands, woodlands, wildlife, other humans and the earth as a whole.
Dawning this new age is not just about counting carbon footprints, becoming a vegan, or hugging a tree. Not that there is anything wrong with any of that, however, it is also about thoughtfulness, balance, and looking toward the future. It's about blending old ways with new technologies. It's about electing the right leaders and showing our current leaders we care. It's about empowering Father Profit by implementing the right economic incentives and it’s about innovation, entrepreneurship, and determination.
The Age of Eco-Enlightenment will mean no more dependence of foreign fossil fuels! It will mean keeping our air, water, and woodlands safe and pollution free for our children to enjoy just as we did. It will also mean more fish, more wildlife and a more balanced and peaceful life.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the Fossil Fuel Man Challenge website is to encourage all of us to move away from our Fossil Fuel Man habits, and take the initial steps towards becoming eco-enlightened.
This website builds awareness and educates by enabling the posting of pictures and information showing that the Fossil Fuel Man and the Eco-Enlightened Man are present in today's society. However, the primary goal is to encourage individuals to take action and "Challenge the Fossil Fuel Man" by performing an Eco-Enlightened initiative.
